A simple method for understanding hair colour and image
What is simple is the method I have devised for understanding hair image and colour.
Using the seasonal approach to colour and the image categories (based on the celebrated clothing personalities of years gone by), it is possible to explain the psychology of both clients and hairdressers allowing solutions to be generated (from thin air) during an image/colour consultation situation.
The secret comes from allowing the image consultant into the world of the hairdresser and making you privy to the foundation knowledge any good stylist or colourist would have.
Each two-day course (for both colour and style) will give you sufficient information and understanding to begin offering your client base Hair Advice either within the realms of a standard consultation or as either a stand-alone workshop or session; you could perhaps run a combined class with make-up and beauty.
Trained consultants who complete both Levels 1 and 2 and ideally the business course will become part of the Head of Style team and receive my full ongoing support.

Level 1 - Hair Colour Analysis
Two-day course
Modules 1, 2 & 3
This fully comprehensive two-day course teaches image and colour consultants how to correctly analyse and, more importantly, advise on and practise hair colour season.
It begins by explaining hair colour season and how to recognise this aspect within hair and goes on to identify the tonal system within the boundaries of hair colour.
You will learn how hair advice can work in relation to overall image and colour, and this will give you more confidence to tackle the rudiments of hair in a consultation environment.

Accreditation
Completion of this course will enable the delegate to receive full accreditation for Hair Colour Analysis Modules 1, 2 & 3.
This will allow consultants to practise Hair Colour Analysis as a chargeable service within the confines of their business and receive full support from ‘Head of Style’ being recognised as a trained Hair Colour Consultant.

Level 2 - Hair Image Analysis
Two-day course

This two-day course teaches image and colour consultants how to correctly advise clients on hairstyles that exclusively work for image, hair texture and personality.
It begins by explaining why the three elements – Hair Image, Personality Type, and Texture - should be harmonised and then educates on:
- Image and Personality - explaining the six image categories and how they relate to hair, whilst also explaining these image categories in relation to personality and delving into client psychology
- the vital element of hair texture and how it can be identified and dealt with during Image advice
- how to uncover and advise clients on hairstyles that will work exclusively for them using image category, personality type and texture
- how to recommend clients onto suitable hairstylists and salons, and where to find them!
The course then delivers a hair image workshop where various client scenarios are analysed and establishes the correct styles whilst addressing client problems with personality, image and hair texture.
You will learn how to conduct your own in-depth ‘Hair Image’ client consultation.

Accreditation

Increasing Profits and Marketing Course
One-day course
This is a one-day course created and designed exclusively for the small business owner who wants to seriously increase their earnings and build their company into a strong and resilient business.
Working in both a direct tutorial structure and group situations the course:
- aims to increase profits by educating on how prices and charges should be set
- examines targeting the right clientele and market
- explains the important of USPs (Unique Selling Points)
- teaches economical and effective marketing and self PR
- discusses the importance of corporate branding even for ‘one-man band’ businesses.
- uses case studies and action plans in workgroup situations to brainstorm and create business solutions for problems and issues
Case studies
You will be encouraged to e-mail your own business issues prior to the course and these actual case studies will be addressed by the group in a brainstorming exercise.
Mastermind groups
You will have an opportunity to form your own business support network or mastermind group, where you can ‘buddy’ with each other and share information. Initially, I will oversee this for a few months following each workshop before (ideally) you can fly.

- This course is available to anyone who runs a small business
- There is no requirement to have trained or operated as an image or colour consultant
- There is no requirement to have previously attended any of the hair courses detailed above
