All the following testimonials are ONLY from those who have trained with me personally. I have not published full names as I don't know at what stage each student feels ready to declare themselves as a fully-fledged, open-for-business image consultant and some may be studying purely for their own personal improvement anyway, but I have kept every single email, letter and card so any of these testimonials can be verified as being real!

"I like your analysis of the personal profiles and agree with your direction for me. Thanks for the last lot of notes, I'm just getting around to catching up on them all now. Will take on board all of the advice and like the idea of a workbook/handout which I can personalise and also use as my own guide, so that will give me something else to work on. Kim, thanks for getting back to me so quickly and for the words of encouragement." Deborah, UK (Nov 09)
"Thank you, thank you for your help yesterday. I can't tell you how much better I feel and how you have reassured me that I'm not too far off. I was beginning to think that I hadn't got it at ALL. You have rescued me. Thank you also for sending your email on it has made things clearer." Louise, UK (May 09)
"Well I ran my '1st' event yesterday evening. Went really
well. It was a friend who runs Pilates classes who wanted her ladies
to get together and meet each other. I ran the tonal taster which meant
they had to mix with each other- there were colour swatches flying around
and lots of oohs and aaaahs!
I used the questionnaire which they absolutely loved - the results were
so true to their characters it was unbelievable. I also took along the
make-up which they loved (and bought).
I am glad the first one is over and have had some good feedback from
it. Looking forward to the next. Alison, UK (Apr 09)
"Thanks for your help thats clarified a few things for me,
and makes a lot of sense. I think I got thrown with Jodie Foster
because I have a photo of her in a grey blue which seems to perfectly
match her eyes and looks lovely... but as you said photographs are not
always a true image.
I did my first colour party last night which was nerve wracking,
but went better than I could ever have hoped, and with exception of one
whose seasonal colours I have already done, they all want a one-to-one
seasonal analysis which is great. Also the job satisfaction was
great, as one of the girls didn't know what to do with colour and went
away thrilled that I had shown her several colours that made her look
amazing." LR, Leeds, UK (Apr 09)
"Just sent you my client's follow up in a separate e-mail.
Thanks so much for your tips - it's all common sense really, but you
really boosted my confidence and showed me what really needed to be covered.
Consultation
was brilliant fun and great experience, the clients were totally thrilled
and I was very glad to have had the chance to go for it! Thank you again." RG,
UK (Dec 07)
"Just a quick question - when Julie and I had our training, part of the seasonal analysis you did for each of us was: Are you a (particular type of) Winter, or Are you a (particular type of) Summer? I have found this really helpful when analysing Winters and Summers, but my question is, are there comparable 'tests' which one should do for an Autumn or a Spring lady?" LE, UK (Nov 07)
"Thanks so much for taking the time to send such a comprehensive
reply! It was very helpful, not least as a great 'refresher', and I shall
certainly try out your approach with my next Autumn client.
Your (particular
type of) Winter and Summer analysis remains a stroke of genius though!
My clients thus far have loved it and are always very excited to know
which one they are.
What a fantastic business we are in. My client yesterday
was a former colleague in London so I was in my former workplace at lunch
time in the empty conference room (good daylight!) to see Sue. I bumped
into a number of people I knew who all said how well I looked, and as
I glimpsed people stuck round meeting tables looking bored/frustrated,
I thanked my stars to be out of there and doing something which I enjoy
so much and which gives such genuine delight to one's clients. You've
known this for years of course but I do feel lucky! Anyway, thanks again
Kim." LE,
UK (Nov 07)
"I desperately need your help.... I'm considering booking myself in for a wedding fayre this weekend (the advertiser offered me a great deal as it was such short notice)... any ideas on what I could present and have you done any (silly question) and what would you do? What do you have on the table, etc? Is there anywhere where I can get display items at short notice?" JB, UK (Oct 07)
"Thanks for the info on the wedding fayre. Take care and once again thank you for your support and words of encouragement... always appreciated." JB, UK (Oct 07)
"Please can you send me the quiz and the 6 pages of Style Personalities - Natural, Classic, Dramatic etc. and anything else you think I will find useful tomorrow. I am not so sure how to begin with Style. I am finding this a lot more complicated than colours but good fun." Julie, UK (Oct 07)
"I had a fab but exhausting day today with Elaine - lots of fun. Here's a few points... Be glad of your input. Elaine thoroughly enjoyed herself and she can't wait to go shopping! My life is changing, thanks Kim for being a part of that!" Julie, UK (Oct 07)
"On the whole things are going very well for me - if I am not busy with consultations then I am busy with talks and if there are no clients then there are lots of clients to follow up and also paperwork etc to do and a website to put together - I think I have come a long way in 10 months and I definitely I have found my niche! I am also having a lot of fun shopping for myself - now I know what suits me! Even though most of the ladies at the gym were much younger than me I got a lot of comments to the effect that - it must work because you look so good! I took that as a real compliment and added to my confidence." Julie, UK (Oct 07)
"Oh wow Kim. Oh wow. Thank you. Your kind words have lifted me from my low. You know so much about me without us having actually spent that much time face to face. Sometimes you know more about me than me! I will start my week on a high now, thanks to you." KA, UK (Oct 07)
"Thank you once again for your encouragement. Talk went well, booking ladies to raise money for the charity. Then the next step 'Go live'." Diane, UK (Oct 07)
"I have decided to do an introductory session for a few ladies, just to get me started. I have written something and I wondered whether you would be kind enough to look at it before I send it out? (It's just the words, not the layout - this obviously hasn't been done yet!)." Deborah, UK (Oct 07)
"Thank you so much for your comments. Really appreciate your help!" Deborah, UK (Oct 07)
"Thanks for your encouraging words last week. As you know, I did my first Tonal Taster session on Monday night and it went so well. I have two questions that came up and I'm sure I should know the answers to and have probably been told already, one about being pregnant, the other about tans, fake or otherwise." Emma, UK (Oct 07)
"That all makes perfect sense now!! I really do appreciate your time and effort when replying to my questions. Thank you!" Emma, UK (Oct 07)
"As you know I run my own boutique and as part of my autumn promotion I am giving some taster colour and style consultations (say 15 - 20 mins each) to tempt customers into booking up a full version and/or buying some new clothes ! Have you got any tips on how to structure this?" LL, UK (Sep 07).
"This is brilliant - given me some valuable information. I will get the manual out and have a play." LL, UK (Sep 07)
"Gosh my friend has done me proud and sold me in for a corporate event for one of her clients (wine n nibbles). I’m the ‘entertainment’. It's at night (shame) but I’m sure you’ll give me a fount of advice as to how to work round that. Oh please do as the money is great for a one-off event of this size! I have to think how I structure it, how much to charge and what to take. Oh please say you can help!" KA, Edinburgh, UK (Aug 07)
"Further to your advice this is what I sent to the client - reference the make up of a corporate night for them with prices. Thank so much for all your help. Very, very useful". KA, Edinburgh, UK (Aug 07)
"Another thing I would appreciate your opinion on is the jacket I bought. I was looking for a jacket that looked professional and looked a bit dramatic/bold! I thought it was fab when I first tried it on in the shop but at home my daughter has sown doubts in my mind. I need to look good, don't I? It's my job to! Could I do better?" JG, UK (Aug 07)
"Thanks for the prompt advice on the jacket - I will keep it! It does look good and gives me a good silhouette etc." JG, UK (Aug 07)
"Thanks for that. Makes a lot of sense, will try it first opportunity I get. My business is taking off the ground, slowly but very surely, lots of opportunities are coming up and I am making the most of every one of them!" Julie, UK (Jul 07)
"Thanks for your brill advice as always, it was spot on! So now I should have an event/slot to advertise my own colour evening in October at the gym - timely for Christmas presents. Am really getting into this now and its very exciting. My confidence is growing daily. Thanks so much for your help and support Kim. Things are going really well and I am getting a good reputation! I am also getting a wonderful wardrobe of clothes and dont feel guilty about the money I'm spending either, it's my job to look good. It is so good to have you advise when we hit snags or just want general advice about ideas etc. I would be in a real panic if I thought this would end soon!!!!! Because I have lots of questions - here is another..." Julie, UK (Aug 07)
"Business is booming this end and I'm loving it. Could you give me any guidance on doing colours for an Indian male? Any ideas gratefully received, as always." Elaine, UK (Jul 07).
"That makes total sense. I'm sure it will be fine, I just needed some direction. Thank you." Elaine, UK (Jul 07)
"Thanks for the advice; it helped to put my mind at rest. The lady is now a proud owner of a new hair colour which she has promised to come round and show me. She commented that the best thing about the day was being given the confidence to change her hair colour so that was great." Jane, UK (Jul 07)
"Thank you ever so much for the information on accessories you sent me last week and the shops for the style personalities - very useful!" Emma, UK (Jun 07)
"Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, I know you are always busy!! I feel quite confident now. I would love to meet you again, whenever you have time. You always give me inspiriation." Hazel, Derbyshire (Jun 07)
"Thank you as always for your prompt response and for this really helpful info on tackling men!! This will be a good starting point for us. Can you outline to me what would be included in the corporate workshop that you deliver as it is something we are considering for the future." Louise, Derby, UK (Jun 07)
"Thanks for your help and advice! Much appreciated! I will stick
to what I felt was right. I have another tonal taster evening Tuesday.
The organiser said I should get prepared to be busy with bookings in
future! I hope she's right but I feel she may be!
I looked on your website
to find out about style training - do you have any dates planned? Cass
and I thought we would like to come back together to do style. Thanks
again Kim for your help. Will be in touch again soon for sure." JG,
UK (Jun 07)
"Have re-keyed the seasonal take-away info your friend did. Wondered if you might be able to cast your eyes over this raw information before I set it to make sure I haven’t put warm into cool or vice versa. A lot is repeated but you know what to look for. Your help is very much appreciated." KA, Edinburgh, UK (Jun 07)
"Hope you liked the flowers - sent you white for your Feng Shui balance. Thanks again for all your help. You truly are a very generous lady and I am very grateful for all your encouragement and wisdom." SD, UK (May 07)
"Not launched my business yet as work is very busy but I am heading in the right direction (great believer in timing). In the meantime I love to learn as much I can. I wondered if it would be possible to get hold of an eye colour chart to help show seasons. Also I would be very interested in any day meetings you could arrange with other consultants who have trained with you. It would be great to talk to like-minded others to help boost the confidence!!!!" DM, UK (May 07)
"I just wanted to let you know how I got on with the lady in the photograph I sent you. She is a Spring, I tested her with brights, both cool and warm. She looked fabulous in the bright coral! She is happy with her hair colour so I gently suggested more golden blonde. Thank you for your help." MW, UK (May 07)
"Thanks for your email this week which I found extremely useful, I followed pages 13 / 14 / 15 in the manual as you suggested as an alternative approach to see if I felt easier with it. As always I would value your comments – as I feel more confident / have done a few Summers / Autumns / Winters, etc and I have calibrated my scale, so to speak, then I won’t need to refer to you all the time. I can’t believe how much I have learnt in the last 6 weeks!!" AS, Isle of Man (May 07)
"Thanks very much for your email and continued support." WM, UK (Apr 07)
"I had the bestest time ever today. It was so invigorating. Drove home with huge grin on face." SC, UK (Apr 07)
"Thanks so much for your feedback and ideas. Your suggestion is excellent - I shall definitely put that into action at the next opportunity! I've sent off my proposal and dates for a talk to the career consultants, so I'll let you know how I get on!" LE, UK (Mar 07)
"Thanks again for your advice the other day I really appreciated it. I just need your advice on something else very quickly....... I have had one call which I am really excited about. Can you give me some pointers as to what I should mention in the proposal, then I can draft something and let you see it first." Sarah, UK (Mar 07)
"I would really appreciate your advice on something..... Any help would be much appreciated, and it's so nice to know that I have you to turn to when situations like this arise." I fired off an email with some pointers that I thought might help. "Phew - thanks for that Kim, it's all in perspective now!! I will use the time to my advantage instead of worrying about giving my services away. Thanks so much for your help - it's like a wave of calm in my self-created panic! I'll let you know how it goes - i.e. (think positive) how many seasonal bookings I get as a result." Lisa, UK (Mar 07)
"Thanks for the prompt response and encouraging comments! It was only when I put the pure white cape on her that I noticed her eyes........yes I think I did make the right decision, didn't I!? I also sent her the day after with her wallet, 2 sheets of A4 typed information that was very specific to her, so she should be happy, shouldn't she? Thanks for the encouragement. I still want to come and see you again." Elaine, Northants, UK (Mar 07)
"Have done a few more analyses and would be grateful for your opinion
about how I did. Thanks so much! Much appreciate your input advice and
help. Gilly was a difficult one, not clear cut. I found the hair colouring
bit difficult to assess because she colours her hair and didn't seem
to fit into a category - also with her choices in the 2nd part. But I
did think she favoured Spring and not Autumn! Can you give me anything
extra here?"
"Had a lot of fun doing Clare's and she was really
cheeky and it was great to do a COOL analysis for a change! Do you think
I am getting it all ok?"
"I would be grateful for your opinion
here when you have time, I appreciate you are very busy. I am especially
keen to do a really good job for Alison because I think she could be
a lead to more (paying) customers! Hey I actually earned some money this
a.m.!"
"Hope you agree with my diagnosis of Julia but would
be grateful for any tips or advice as always. This is going really well
and I've had the most fantastic day and earned some money! Julia also
brought me a bottle of wine and some flowers - just need someone to share
the wine with now!" And a few days later, "Another happy customer
- see email below from Julia - thanks so much for your help Kim! I am
learning so much and it is great to see my friends looking so lovely!
I have another friend coming in a moment; am sure she will get just
as much out of it. Am having such fun and learning lots; Colour Analysis
has opened up a whole new world to me! Thank you for your part in that!
Cant wait to do style training some time in the near future." And
the day after that, "Can't wait to see the new Julia tomorrow! What
a fantastic result and am sure will do my reputation a lot of good when
the results are seen. Will encourage her to wear her favourite black
and white again! Thanks again for your help."
"Thanks so much
for taking the time to comment on all of my analyses! I am learning much
more now and becoming more confident in my abilities. Thanks again for
your help Kim, it is working out very well for me. Just hope I continue
to get a steady stream of clients when I'm charging full price though
I think I will! People at church are saying good things. One lady stopped
me yesterday to say she was glad someone had stopped Jayne wearing black!
Some ladies were commenting on how lovely Gilly was looking in her new
clothes and that she seemed much happier! I take some of the credit for
this! But thank you so much for your help and guidance! I have been so
nervous about doing a good job but I couldn't have done it without your
support!"
"Thanks so much for helping me to do this! It is wonderful
to be able to help other people benefit too! Donna looks radiant in rust
and browns now, Gilly has bought a whole new wardrobe, Julia has the
most wonderful silver grey hair, Gay is wearing wonderful autumnal browns
and rusts, etc and I am looking better too! Can't wait for my Mum to
come home from Spain in May so I can do hers - am sure she wears lots
wrong colours!" Julie, UK (Mar 07)
"Thank you for the positive feedback on my brochure - much appreciated!!" Lisa, UK (Mar 07)
"Hi Kim, just wanted to thank you very much for your responses to my list of questions about marketing, leaflets, etc.. I will have a good read and come up with some new ideas on the basis of what you suggest. I'm looking at marketing generally at the moment. One of our neighbours is a business coach so I'll be picking his brains for some further ideas! I agree with you - the website needs sorting, so I will probably look to do this before I commit to any more mailshots, etc. A proper business plan will help me to focus better on all these aspects. I now realise this is a priority for succeeding." Wendy, Cambridge, UK (Feb 07)
"Thanks for the detailed feedback about G. Makes me feel good that I was on the right track and I know I will learn from experience! I am already thinking about D who is coming next Tuesday - another Warm, possibly Autumn but definitely much more Soft/muted! I know G enjoyed the experience and went off ready to experiment with colours. I will see her this evening and ask her to choose from the Warm or Autumnal wallets - I will also note what she is wearing. Will be in touch again soon no doubt. I have 2 more ladies booked in and a steady stream of interest. Thanks so much for your help and advice and so prompt too; that was important to me today because it was my first go!" Julie, Lincolnshire, UK (Feb 07)
"I have finally been getting well under way with my colour analysing. I just wanted you to clarify my findings to put my mind at rest. I have gone with my gut instinct but just want reassurance from you. Does this all sound like I'm in the right direction? I didn't give out any wallets until I am reassured by you but, as I said, I am going with my gut." Sarah, Surrey, UK (Nov 06)
Sarah had sent details of 3 clients and we went through them one by
one. "Thanks for the reply. I feel great that I did those successfully
and now can't wait to do some more people."
"Thanks for the
information on the workshop. I did my first about 10 days ago and it
went really well, they are all going to book again and 3 have e-mailed
to say thank you. Most of my ladies seem to be doing this so hopefully
you've taught me something. I've got another one booked in for later
this month too. I much preferred the format. I really liked the interaction
between the ladies and I think it is much better for them. I'm sure they
learnt far more by watching everyone else than just doing it themselves.
I had 2 Autumns who were quite different and it was very interesting
for them to see that they were very much within the same palette but
one was more soft/muted and the other more warm and so their best colours
were different." Jane, Doncaster, UK (Nov
06)
"Two questions for you - Have you ever run pre-Christmas group
sessions with 'tips for glitz' type themes? Secondly do all of us who
do not colour our hair end up as Winters?"
I sent Alison a long email
replying to both questions. I'd forgotten that I used to run a workshop
hundreds of years ago called, 'How to dress up your LBD (little black
dress)' so I outlined how I did this.
"Thanks Kim, this helps hugely.
I'll print it off and put with my notes (keeping your newsletters company
!!)" Alison, Buxton,
UK (Nov 06)
"I did my stepdaughter's colours for her today, and I was fully expecting her to be a Summer - however, I made her a Bright Winter? Please let me know if you agree (have attached picture)! Thanks in advance for your help - fingers crossed I've got it right!" Lisa, Hertfordshire, UK (Oct 06)
"Thanks so much for that. I was seriously beginning to doubt myself after your e-mail yesterday, and can't really believe that I got it right!!! Phew! Now that my confidence has been boosted, I should be able to carry on." (Oct 06)
"Also many thanks for the tips on the Tonal Taster workshops. You have given me some terrific ideas." Linda, Doncaster, UK (Sep 06)
"Thanks Kim, it is so important to have the back-up you provide when starting out. I'm not sure I'm up to a group of 10 at the moment. I'd rather stay in my own space for a while as well. At the moment we're looking at splitting the groups into 2 so I think the stuff from Michelle will be useful. I have tried to leave this open until I had spoken to you. Thanks for the help so far. I'll look forward to receiving the smaller group info as I think this is what we'll end up doing." Jane, Doncaster, UK (Aug 06)
"I've been meaning to thank you for the tips about men's style. I had a fantastic day with a very excited man who hung on my every word, took in everything I said and was completely open about the whole experience. I was quite tongue tied at times trying to find words that would be meaningful to a man but he loved the whole experience and couldn't wait to show his wife and friends all his new purchases. He loved looking for his colours in the shops and couldn't believe he had a whole basket full of clothes that all looked terrific on him and that all co-ordinated with each other. It was much fun for us both. Pretty knackering too!! So thank you for the pointers." Michelle, London (Aug 06)
"I did my first free lady this week, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Everything seemed to flow and felt very natural, which is all down to
the training obviously! She is an Autumn and now looks fabulous in her
new browns and make up; she wore black all the time before! Im
doing two next week; one is my husband's Mum who Im pretty sure
is a Winter, then I have a colleague from work who I would like your
advice about if you dont mind. Shes grey so its not
as easy, her hair is dark grey with some lighter grey in but not much.
Her eyes are blue, but not bright. She says her hair was brown before
she went grey, but she always coloured it. She is really excited so I
want to get it right for her! Ive asked her for a picture which
she may give to me tomorrow."
I emailed back my thoughts (without
a photo so far) so I've asked Marie-Claire to let me know the outcome.
"Thank
you for your advice, I was thinking along those lines. It's really useful
to have someone to check things out with. I will certainly let you know." Marie-Claire,
UK (Jan 05)
"Just to say a proper thanks for your comments on my friend. Especially
blaming the other system not me. She is really pleased with the colours
and lipstick.
I have now checked several of my clients. The Autumns and
Summers are fine but the Springs have so far turned into Autumns (mostly)
and a Summer. Two of them are still Springs. The others are either; 'once
the kids are back at school' or 'I like my colours so I'll pass'. Everyone
has been so nice about it." Sue, Uttoxeter, UK (Aug 05) after a
one-day Colour Refresher.
"Thank you so much for taking the time over Fiona. Huge relief that I got it right. I thought she looked better in Summer colours but didn't trust myself." Sue, Uttoxeter, UK (Aug 05)
"Thank you so much for your reply! And I'm really excited that I got it right!!" Claire, Bury St. Edmunds, UK (Jun 05)
After her Colour training, Julie emailed me a description and a photograph
of her friend. I was able to help 'diagnose' Michaela as a Spring. Here
are Julie's three subsequent emails to me:
"Gosh, I am shocked re:
my friend being a Spring. She and I are just so opposite in colouring,
but I will definitely do the test on her as you suggested."
"Yes,
Spring does really work well for Michaela, she is thrilled! And you are
spot on, she is a very bright vivacious character!"
"Just wanted
to say thanks again for your advice, and that today went really well.
I had three Springs this weekend, one yesterday, and two today. One of
them today was my friend Michaela whom you helped me with, the dark Spring,
so thank you so much again." Julie, London,
UK (Apr 05)
